Cauliflower bake

Ingredients

Veges

  • Cauliflower cut into florets
  • Sweet / Potatoes
  • Carrots (optional)
  • Salt and Pepper

Topping

  • Bread crumbs or panko crumbs
  • Cheese
  • Bechamel
    • 2 tbsp Butter
    • 3 tbsp flour
    • 2 cup hot milk
    • cheese
    • nutmeg
    • pepper
    • salt
  • mayo?
  • 2 tbsp butter on top

Method

  1. Oven to 190 degrees C.
  2. Cook cauliflower in salted water for 5-6 minutes. Drain
  3. Prep the root vegetables, cut to a size so that it cooks at the same time as the cauliflower.
  4. Salt and pepper and herbs to taste.
Bechamel
  1. Melt 2tbsp butter in saucepan over low heat
  2. Add flour, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Pour in hot milk gradually, stirring constantly. Boil while stirring until thickened to desired consistency.
  3. Off the heat, add salt, pepper, nutmeg, cheese to taste.
Combine
  1. Put in some sauce and cauliflower in a dish, mix. Pour in rest of sauce.
  2. Top with cheese and some bread crumbs, maybe potato chips.
  3. Top with melted butted, salt and pepper
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until cooked and browned. Serve hot or at room temperature.
