Cauliflower bake
Ingredients
Veges
- Cauliflower cut into florets
- Sweet / Potatoes
- Carrots (optional)
- Salt and Pepper
Topping
- Bread crumbs or panko crumbs
- Cheese
- Bechamel
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cup hot milk
- cheese
- nutmeg
- pepper
- salt
- mayo?
- 2 tbsp butter on top
Method
- Oven to 190 degrees C.
- Cook cauliflower in salted water for 5-6 minutes. Drain
- Prep the root vegetables, cut to a size so that it cooks at the same time as the cauliflower.
- Salt and pepper and herbs to taste.
Bechamel
- Melt 2tbsp butter in saucepan over low heat
- Add flour, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Pour in hot milk gradually, stirring constantly. Boil while stirring until thickened to desired consistency.
- Off the heat, add salt, pepper, nutmeg, cheese to taste.
Combine
- Put in some sauce and cauliflower in a dish, mix. Pour in rest of sauce.
- Top with cheese and some bread crumbs, maybe potato chips.
- Top with melted butted, salt and pepper
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until cooked and browned. Serve hot or at room temperature.
