Ingredients

  • Eggs 6 large (Separate yolk and whites)
  • Sugar 150g
  • Plain flour 150g
  • Juice/Water 140ml
  • Oil 100ml
  • Cream of tartar 1sp
  • Baking powder 1sp
  • Salt (pinch)
  • Pandan flavor, or small bit of lemon

Equipment

  • Chiffon cake pan

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C

Batter

  1. Sift flour and baking powder
  2. Warm oil, stir in
    • Mixture of flour and baking powder
    • Water
    • Salt
    • Stir in egg yolk one by one
  3. Add pandan flavor

Whip the egg whites

  1. Separate egg whites from the egg yolks
  2. Whip egg whites with Sugar
  3. Add Cream of tartar towards the end until they become stiff peak

Combine

  1. Combine and fold
  2. Cook in oven 180°C ? 15/30min?
  3. Insert skewer to make sure it’s not wet
  4. Immediately invert the pan and cool with water spray / wet towels
  5. Wait till completely cool, Cut out the cake with a plastic knife.
